HBO has officially granted a series order to its untitled Rachel Sennott comedy, which initially received a pilot order last March. In addition to leading the ensemble cast, the Bottoms star also serves as the show’s creator, writer, and executive producer.

“Rachel is as hilarious as she is charming. With Lorene and Emma, she has captured the comedy and the beauty that happens when friendships collide with our best laid plans,” HBO and Max Comedy Programming’s executive vice president Amy Gravitt said in a statement via a press release. “We’re thrilled to be continuing our collaboration with this talented team and this exquisite cast.”

Who is involved in the untitled Rachel Sennott comedy?

The untitled ensemble comedy will also star Odessa A’zion (Grand Army), Jordan Firstman (Dave), Miles Robbins (Blockers), and True Whitaker (Godfather of Harlem), with Leighton Meester and Quenlin Blackwell previously signing on as guest-stars for the show’s pilot episode. Besides Sennott, the half-hour-long series is also being executive produced by Lorene Scafaria, Emma Barrie, and Aida Rodgers, with Scafaria also directing the pilot.

“A codependent friend group reunites, navigating how the time apart, ambition, and new relationships have changed them,” reads the show’s official logline.

This marks Sennott’s latest collaboration with HBO after previously starring with Lily-Rose Depp in The Idol series. She first gained recognition for her performance in 2020’s comedy movie Shiva Baby, which she also executive produced. Her other notable film credits include Bodies Bodies Bodies, Bottoms, and I Used to Be Funny. Sennott will next be seen in Jason Reitman’s biopic comedy movie Saturday Night.
