Vanessa Hudgens Got Pregnancy Advice From This Unlikely A-Lister
There is no shortage of celebrities Vanessa Hudgens can turn to for pregnancy advice — including High School Musical co-star Ashley Tisdale and Glee alum Lea Michele, who are both currently pregnant with their second children! But when she was filminga recent movie, she turned to an unlikely A-lister for some advice: Will Smith!
The Men in Black star opened up about how Hudgens was pregnant during filming for his movie Bad Boys: Ride or Die. The movie began filming in March 2023, but was stalled during the SAG-AFTRA actors’ strike that went on from July to Nov. 2023. “So the strike happened [and] when she came back and we had to finish the movie, it was really [about] trying to figure out how to shoot around [the bump],” Smith told Entertainment Tonight.

He praised Hudgens, calling her “a hard worker” who “wants to get it done,” and he shared the pregnancy advice he gave her about filming with her bump. “I was like, ‘No, don’t worry. You’ll always be able to tell your child that they were in this scene with you,’” the Kind Richard star revealed. It’s good advice! Why stress over something you can’t control when you can just embrace it? Smith, who is a dad to 3, completely reassured her, and we love seeing the support.
The French Girl star is currently pregnant with her first baby with husband Cole Tucker, a shortstop and outfielder for the Los Angeles Angels. She recently visited him for a game, sharing a photo on the field next to her husband. Hudgens wore a fitted white maxi dress with a black cardigan and a white Angels hat as she hugged her husband. “’You can call it faith, you can call it angels, you can call it whatever you want’ ??” she captioned the photo, quoting Angels in the Outfield.
The Princess Switch actress opened up about returning to work after having her baby in an April interview with Bustle. “Who knows — no crystal ball here,” she said about how much maternity leave she will take. “I am leaving it to the wind. There’s a lot that I want to do regardless of the timing. There’s a lot I feel like I still haven’t done, so I’m just continuing to work towards those things in whatever way.”
