Vanessa Trump jumps in to defend Don Jr.'s new girlfriend after press 'attack'
Donald Trump Jr. has found an ally in his estranged wife, Vanessa Trump, when it comes to defending his new girlfriend, Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle.
President Trump’s eldest son called out the New York Daily News for what he perceived to be a “racist” attack on Guilfoyle. The line in question was in an opinion piece written by Linda Stasi titled “Fox should fire reporter Kimberly Guilfoyle, who can’t possibly stay neutral while dating a Trump kid.”
Trump Jr. also took issue with the suggestion that his new love should be let go. On Thursday, he shared an article from Mediaite about the “absurd” Daily News piece, calling it “liberal privilege at its finest.” And the tweet caught the attention of Vanessa Trump.
The lengths people will go to attack a woman simply because she’s dating Don. We’ve been separated for over 9 months and respect each other’s decisions & privacy. We’ll focus on raising our great kids.Would be nice if the press did the same rather than obsess over our pvt lives! https://t.co/fa73W3gv43

Vanessa, 40, filed for divorce in March after 12 years of marriage; however, reports claimed at the time that the two had been living “separate lives” for a while. “Even before all this Trump presidency stuff started they weren’t good and their marriage was strained,” an insider told People.
Sounds like this was just confirmed. Maybe that’s why there is no bad blood over Trump Jr. moving on so quickly. He has reportedly been seeing Guilfoyle, who also happens to be a longtime family friend, since April.
The host of The Five, 49, and Trump Jr., 40, have been spotted out together on various date nights over the past several weeks, which prompted Stasi’s article on Tuesday. The columnist called Guilfoyle “an otherwise brilliant woman,” but “when it comes to picking men, though, she’d be better off picking grapes.” Trump Jr. found the grape reference offensive given Guilfoyle’s Puerto Rican heritage.
How did this get past her editors at the @NYDailyNews? Or do they condone this kind of talk? I guess hypocrisy, sexism & racist rhetoric are alive & well there.

After facing backlash online, Stasi apologized on Twitter.
Absolutely no idea that Kimberly Guilfoyle is half Puerto Rican…and my column was in no way meant as a slur. Nonetheless I will change that reference online. I’m just surprised anyone would have assumed such a stereotype b/c someone is half-Latina. So sorry for misunderstanding

The “grapes” reference in the New York Daily News article was changed to “when it comes to picking men, though, she’d probably have better odds picking lotto numbers.”
Trump Jr. clearly appreciates Vanessa’s support. He retweeted a post from Candace Owens, who called it “real feminism.”
