‘Veep’ Cast Reuniting For Table Read Benefitting Kamala Harris Campaign
The Kamala Harris-fueled Veep resurgence has sparked a cast reunion leading up to the 2024 presidential election.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus recently announced a virtual table read with her co-stars from the HBO political satire series and host Stephen Colbert, which will stream live at 7pm CT on Sunday, Sept. 29, benefitting the Democratic Party of Wisconsin as Harris campaigns in the battleground state.

Tickets are available online for the reading, which will reunite Louis-Dreyfus with Tony Hale, Anna Chlumsky, Reid Scott, Timothy Simons, Sam Richardson, Matt Walsh, Gary Cole, Sarah Sutherland, Clea DuVall, and Sufe Bradshaw.
Louis-Dreyfus announced the reading last week in a video with WisDems Chair Ben Wikler. “This is Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the 10-time Emmy winner and an elitist, out-of-touch Hollywood liberal Satan worshipper,” he said, to which she quipped: “You know what? Incorrect. I have 11 Emmys.”
Wikler noted the show’s surge in viewership since Harris began her campaign, particularly around the 2015 Season 3 episode ‘Crate’, which seemed to foreshadow the Democratic nominee’s candidacy.
“Well, I have an idea,” said Louis-Dreyfus. “What if we get the cast back together for a virtual table read of that episode, all in support of having Dems win up and down the ballot in Wisconsin?”
After President Joe Biden announced in July he was dropping out of the race and endorsing Harris, plenty of fans have taken to social media with memes pointing out the parallels to Louis-Dreyfus‘ titular character, Vice President Selina Meyer, in the hit series that ran for seven seasons from 2012 to 2019.
In August, Louis-Dreyfus admitted she plans to be “extra-involved” in the election, including an appearance at last month’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
