While the Venom 3 trailer has led to fans theorizing about many aspects of the film, the most exciting prospect is the appearance of Spider-Man. But after Spider-Man: No Way Home introduced the three Spider-Men to each other, fans aren’t so sure which one it could be. However, hints from the first trailer point toward Andrew Garfield‘s Spider-Man appearing in the film.

So, here’s everything that’s currently known about Spider-Man appearing in Venom: The Last Dance.

Will Andrew Garfield appear as Spider-Man in Venom 3: The Last Dance?

There is no official confirmation about Andrew Garfield appearing as Spider-Man in Venom 3.

The trailer for Venom: The Last Dance featured many scenes from the movie that have only confused fans about the timelines. A detail that some fans missed in the trailer is the appearance of a bearded Rhys Ifans with a homeless look. He played Dr. Connors in the past in The Amazing Spider-Man and reprised his role in No Way Home. This hints at the film possibly being based in the universe that has Garfield as Spider-Man.

In No Way Home’s ending, Spider-Man teams up with his variants to cure the villains before they are sent back to their realities. If Rhys Ifans truly reprises Dr. Curt Connors in Venom 3, his two hands in the trailer could be explained by No Way Home’s events. This twist opens the door for Garfield’s Spider-Man to appear in Venom 3. However, this theory hinges on Ifans playing Connors in the film, which is also unconfirmed at the time of writing.

Who could the SSU Spider-Man be?

Most of the speculation and theories point towards Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man belonging to the SSU.

The confusion with the timelines mainly happened due to the scene in the Venom 3 trailer where Chiwetel Ejiofor‘s unnamed character captures the Symbiote matter in the same bar where Eddie Brock appears in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home. This and the post-credits scene from Venom: Let There Be Carnage link Venom to Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man. However, since Doctor Strange sends them back to their original universes, Holland’s Spider-Man will not make it to the SSU unless he travels to that universe.

In the aftermath of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Eddie Brock seemingly returns to Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU) while the symbiote Venom leaves behind a residual trace. The newly released trailer for Venom: The Last Dance offers a tantalizing clue. Ejiofor’s character, potentially Orwell Taylor, could have also transitioned from Earth-616 during the dimensional shift in No Way Home. His immediate capture of the Symbiote particle suggests prior knowledge of Venom, potentially indicating he was already tracking the entity. While this remains speculation, it lends credence to the theory that Garfield’s Spider-Man might also reside within the SSU, further bolstered by Rhys Ifans’ appearance.
