Who is Patrick Mulligan/Toxin in Venom 3? The first trailer of Venom: The Last Dance has confirmed that Toxin (Stephen Graham) is a major antagonist. As a result, fans want to know about his powers and origin story. The Last Dance follows Eddie and the Venom Symbiote as they deal with adversaries from both their worlds. The previous two Venom films were big hits at the box office. Naturally, there is considerable interest in Patrick Mulligan’s Toxin in the third and final installment of the film series.

Here is what we have discovered about Toxin and his powers and origin story.

Who is Venom 3: The Last Dance’s villain, Toxin?

In Marvel Comics, Toxin has switched between being a superhero and a supervillain over the years.

Toxin and Patrick Mulligan first appear in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU) in Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021). There, Mulligan is a detective at the San Francisco Police Department. Frances Barrison/Shriek seemingly kills Mulligan in the final act. However, he ultimately survives, and his eyes turn iridescent blue, indicating that he has bonded with a Symbiote.

In the comics, Toxin is the third major Symbiote and an offspring of Carnage, and it seems that this part of its origin story will be replicated in the Venom films. On the other hand, Mulligan is one of the best officers of the NYPD in the comics. His strong sense of morality and devotion to justice deeply influence Toxin, and their actions as host and symbiote are almost exclusively heroic.

Things change drastically after demon Blackheart kills Mulligan and tortures Toxin, who later bonds with Eddie and transforms into a supervillain. In contrast, the trailer for The Last Dance shows Mulligan/Toxin as a captive and confirms that he is a major villain in Venom 3.

What are the powers and abilities of Toxin in Venom 3?

Like other Symbiotes, Toxin has superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, reflexes, and durability.

Additionally, due to Symbiote biology, Toxin is stronger than both Venom and Carnage. In the comics, Toxin can crawl on the walls and shoot unlimited webbing because of Venom’s past association with Spider-Man. However, this is unlikely to happen in The Last Dance, as the SSU hasn’t yet fully introduced Spider-Man yet.
