We are Venom: Here's your exclusive first look at Hasbro's biggest, baddest Marvel Legends action figure
Let there be... Venom. A new version of Spider-Man's most dangerous foe is joining Hasbro's popular Marvel Legends toy line, and Yahoo Entertainment has your exclusive first look. This 6-inch figure is debuting at Hasbro's virtual 2021 PulseCon in the fall, which is also when Venom: Let There Be Carnage — the sequel to the 2018 hit starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and his symbiote-enhanced alter ego — arrives in theaters.
Retailing for $31.49, the newest Marvel Legends Venom figure isn't based on Hardy's interpretation. Instead, the Marvel Legends crew took their inspiration from the popular 1990s Spider-Man animated series, which featured storylines adapted directly from the Marvel comic books — including Venom's introduction. (The Simpsons star Hank Azaria voiced the character during the show's five-season run.)
As with all of the figure in the Marvel Legends line, Venom boasts multiple points of articulation and premium design elements. Take a gander at his signature toothy (and tongue-y) smile to see how much detail and character went into the sculpt.
Venom and Spidey's decades-old rivalry will soon continue on the big screen as well. Let There Be Carnage opens in multiplexes on Sept. 24, three months before Tom Holland's wall-crawler swings back into theaters on Christmas Day in the trilogy-capping Spider-Man: No Way Home. And rumor has it that No Way Home will feature cameo appearances from friends and foes across the Spider-verse. Could that mean a Hardy-Holland brawl? We're positively grinning at the thought.
Hasbro's Marvel Legends Series Venom Figure will be available exclusively on Hasbro Pulse in the fall. More details about Hasbro's virtual 2021 PulseCon will be revealed in the coming months.
