Venom: Let There Be Carnage touched down in theaters this past weekend. The sequel to the box-office smash hit for Sony took the symbiote story one step further by introducing Carnage.
Let There Be Carnage is almost a rom-com mixed with an action flick. Cletus is fighting to reunite with his love, while Eddie deals with the fallout from his own relationship.
The moment fans can't stop talking about is THAT mid-credits scene. I suggest you read no further unless you're ready for spoilers.
During the scene, Eddie and Venom enjoy a vacation while they bicker about knowledge. Just as Venom is about to school Eddie, a golden wave passes over what seems like the world and changes the details of everything.
So what does this all mean for Venom and Spider-Man?
Let's take a step back for a moment. This is the first time we have witnessed the effects of Loki in the "real world." Of course, we did witness Loki himself return to a much different TVA — however, that location exists outside of "reality."
Now that Sony and Disney have merged universes, the possibilities are endless.
OR possibly Tom Holland's Spider-Man gets displaced into Sony's movie universe by the end of his film, essentially removing him from the MCU momentarily.
In the mid-credits scene, we also see Venom display a curious attraction to Peter Parker. This may be laying the groundwork for the Symbiote Spider-Man suit.
The fact that J.J. Jameson in both Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man movies and Tom Holland's MCU flicks are essentially the same person also gave us a hint about variants early on.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage is an alley-oop for Spider-Man: No Way Home to begin the villain mix-up madness. Venom may join Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Electro, and others in the third MCU Spidey flick.
