The VH1 Save the Music Foundation and Toyota are teaming up for the third year to assist music education programs in public schools around the country.

The initiative will feature activations at six music festivals across the U.S. intended to raise awareness of the importance of music education, benefiting the VH1 Save the Music Foundation’s commitment to restoring music education programs in America’s public schools. In conjunction, Toyota will present an education grant to a to-be-determined Las Vegas school in partnership with VH1 Save The Music and the city’s Life is Beautiful Music & Art Festival.

The campaign kicks off April 28 at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California, and will make stops following at the Country 500, Firefly, Lollapalooza, Life Is Beautiful and Voodoo Music + Arts Experience festivals. Each will include a unique photo mosaic mural activation that develops in real time throughout the duration of each festival using photos that artists and festival attendees post on social media using the #ToyotaGiving hashtag and a message about what music means to them.

“At Toyota, we take our commitment to improve education very seriously,” said Steve Appelbaum, national engagement marketing manager, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. “As a result, we continue to evolve our partnership with VH1 Save the Music in an effort to create awareness of and support their mission to restore music education programs in schools nationwide.”

With VH1 Save The Music and Toyota’s philanthropic partnership now in it’s third year, past campaigns have culminated with appearances from Santigold and Sir the Baptist at events awarding grants to music education programs in New Orleans and Chicago, respectively.

“In our 20th Anniversary year, we are more grateful than ever for Toyota’s continued support and for joining us in our mission to provide every student with the benefits of a sustainable music education program,” said Henry Donahue, executive director of VH1 Save The Music Foundation. “Thanks to Toyota’s help, the last two years were a tremendous success in bringing music programs to schools in New Orleans and Chicago and we look forward to building on that success once again in 2017.”
