Viceroy Teams With Gavin Turek for Summer Takeover Track ‘Fade Out’

Lather on the sunscreen and jump in the pool. Viceroy‘s got a summer song that’s ready to make a splash.

The self-proclaimed “dance game Jimmy Buffett” dims the lights and paints with the colors of a West Coast sunset on “Fade Out.” It’s dripping in ’70s disco grooves with funky slap bass and wah-wah guitar goodness. Viceroy turned the tempo down for a grown and sexy feel and tapped California singer-songwriter Gavin Turek to lay down the silky smooth vocals.

“When Viceroy reached out to collab, I was excited to hear him venture a bit from his signature production elements,” Turek says in an email statement. “The concept and lyrics came almost immediately when I started writing it. The music just felt right.”

“For most of my recent singles I’ve either released stuff that’s house tempo or hip hop tempo,” Viceroy says. “I wanted to try something in the middle of those two tempo ranges, something with some soul to it, something different yet familiar … Nothing sexier than a disco slow burner.”
