New View For ‘The View’: Season 28 Will Air From New State-Of-Art Studio In Downtown Manhattan
The View aired its final episode of the season today, and when it returns in September it will have a new look: The show is moving to a new state-of-the-art studio in downtown Manhattan for Season 28.
“After 10 years and 2,143 episodes, this is also the last show we’ll do from this studio,” co-host Sunny Hostin said after noting today’s episode is the season finale.

“We’re sad to say goodbye,” she continued, “but we are thrilled to be moving to a brand-new studio downtown — brand-new, state-of-the-art — and we will see you there in September for the premiere of Season 28 of The View.”
The daytime talker has been a 10-year resident of ABC’s Upper West Side studio at 7 West 66th Street. Prior to that, The View was down the street at 320 W. 66th Street, where for a time it shared the building with ABC soaps All My Children and One Life to Live.
An address for the new downtown studio was not given during today’s episode.
The show posted an Instagram message today that includes black-and-white portraits of each co-host (Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin) photographed at the current studio. (The inclusion of all six might suggest there will be no line-up changes come September).
“Get ready for a new ‘View’ as we end this chapter after 10 years in our studio on New York City’s Upper West Side! See you in September from our new, state-of-the-art studio in downtown Manhattan when we kick off season 28! Here’s a look behind the scenes of our photo shoot for this past season in studio TV1.” See it below.
After making the announcement, the co-hosts, minus Goldberg who has Fridays off, talked about what to pack and who’s a “purger” and “hoarder.”
“We’ve had to for the past couple of weeks box up things, get rid of things,” Hostin said. “We were allotted, each host, five huuuuge cartons. I took up two, Sara took up all five and was looking for more. And Ana, please don’t say that you were a purger, because I think you had over 50 pairs of shows in your room.”
“I’m feeling attacked!” Navarro joked. “They are all my shoes, I love all my shoes! I have no children, my children are my shoes. I’m a childless shoe lady!”
Season 28 of The View will premiere after Labor Day.
