In case you haven't heard, people are NOT happy with the current season of The Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY). In fact, after this week's episode, many are calling for it to be canceled altogether.

Let me get you up to speed: In 2022, after a tumultuous, tense, and messy — but not in a good way — Season 13 (it was so bad that Bravo didn't even have a reunion), it was announced that all of the current RHONY cast would be let go, and the franchise would be rebooted with a completely new cast. Season 14 of RHONY with new cast members Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Dana Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield premiered on Bravo in 2023, and reviews were mixed-to-negative.

But for Season 15, it's been almost exclusively negative — like, people are really not happy about it. And this week's episode may have just sunk the reboot for good.

Here's why. When Bravo released RHONY's Season 15 trailer, it teased a pregnancy storyline for new housewife and fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff. Specifically, that she "had this wild night, and ended up getting pregnant by some other guy."

"Some other guy" seemingly implied someone other than Rebecca's husband, Gavin Bellour.

And in Episode 7, Rebecca confronts Erin Dana Lichy for spreading this information around the cast, and angrily storms out of their group dodgeball match. Erin runs after her, presumably to try and fix things.

Well, after building up this storyline ALL season, it's revealed at the very end of the episode that the whole thing isn't even true. It was all a prank orchestrated by Rebecca and Erin to fool their cast-mates.

Considering that fans already weren't too keen on this season of RHONY to begin with, they were NOT pleased with this little ruse. One person even called it "the worst storyline ever seen on housewives."

Others viewers said they felt "scammed" by the whole thing and that it's "honestly just wasting our time."

And they want this season of the reboot to be its last.

Andy Cohen himself even commented on the prank with guest Jeff Lewis on Watch What Happens Live, in front of RHONY housewife Sai De Silva no less!

"I'm not a fan of a prank, I'm gonna be honest," he said.

Jeff felt the same: "I think it's a bad move. I think it's self-producing, I think that you lose trust in your audience. I think it's a bad move. ... I don't like pranks."

Will this mark the end of the RHONY reboot? I'm not sure, but we'll keep you updated if it does. In the meantime, you can stream all seasons of The Real Housewives of New York City on Peacock...if you even want to.
