Vince Vaughn Is Back in New Comedy Series From AppleTV+ Bad Monkey
It feels like it's been a little while since a new Vince Vaughn project hit the scene, but AppleTV+ has broken the drought by delivering a new ten-episode series called Bad Monkey.
Vaughn stars as Andrew Yancy in the adaptation of Carl Hiaasen's 2013 New York Times bestselling novel of the same name.
AppleTV+ has dropped the official synopsis, which reads:
Bad Monkey tells the story of Andrew Yancy (Vaughn), who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department and is now a health inspector in the Keys. But after stumbling upon a case that begins with a human arm fished up by tourists, he realizes that if he can prove murder, he'll be back in. He just needs to get past a trove of Floridian oddballs and one bad monkey.
Joining Vaughn in the cast are L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, Ronald Peet, Jodie Turner-Smith, with special guest star John Ortiz and guest stars Zach Braff, Ashley Nicole Black, Scott Glenn and Charlotte Lawrence in her television debut.
Bill Lawrence of hit AppleTV+ series' Ted Lasso and Shrinking joins as executive producer alongside Vaughn.
AppleTV+ has also debuted the first trailer for Bad Monkey, which shows Vaughn delivering that same talk-a-mile-a-minute signature style he's known for and gives a sense of the world this story takes place in.
Bad Monkey will premiere globally on AppleTV+ on August 14 with the first two episodes, and new episodes will drop weekly every Wednesday through October 9.
