It's the battle of the sexes on "The Voice."

As teams started to fill up on the final night of Blind Auditions Monday, coaches Blake Shelton, Nick Jonas, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson got more selective on which singers they hit their buttons for.

No one was more selective than Legend, so much so that Shelton diagnosed him with “button dysfunction."

"That happens to a lot of men, John," Shelton joked.

"Don’t be ashamed," Clarkson quipped. Legend added, "If your button is stuck for four hours, call a doctor."

Legend was holding out for some ladies. "I am very male-heavy this year," he said.

Clarkson had the opposite problem: "I have all girls… I think I’m going to have an all-girls team."

Micah Iverson impressed the coaches with a rendition of Kodaline's "All I Want," prompting Clarkson, Shelton and Jonas to turn around.

Jonas appealed to Iverson's musical inspiration in his pitch while throwing Shelton under the bus: "I don’t know how connected to emo, pop, angst, rock, Blake will be."

"I thought pop-rock were damn candy," Shelton replied, proving Jonas right. The country crooner's pitch? "I have won this show six times… Just pick me."

Iverson went on to join Team Clarkson, becoming the first male singer to join her team this year. "Micah holds it down on my team for the males, so I hope he likes estrogen," Clarkson joked.

Legend finally got the lucky lady he was not so patiently waiting for after landing Mandi Castillo, a 23-year-old bilingual singer who auditioned with a fiery take on Juan Gabriel's "Así Fue."

All four judges turned around: Jonas pulled the sympathy card ("When I first heard you… I’m sorry, I’m not trying to get emotional"); Legend used flattery ("It was just a magical performance"); Clarkson bonded over Spanish ("I literally just got off my DuoLingo because I’m learning Spanish"); and Shelton complimented her hometown ("I love San Antonio. I love the food.")

Castillo went with her gut and picked Legend.

This week's Blind Audition was filmed late last year, before the coronavirus pandemic took root in the U.S. The coaches did offer a much needed distraction, however, with a group performance of Jonas’ "Jealous."
