‘Walking Dead’ Finale: Say Hello to Negan, Goodbye to Beloved Character
Season 6 of The Walking Dead finally came to a close, though with little closure. The episode titled “Last Day on Earth” was centered on getting Maggie to the Hilltop Colony so she could see a doctor. Unfortunately for Rick and the gang, they were the repeated victims of the Saviors’ blockades, which culminated in finally being caught by Negan.
Negan, played by Jeffery Dean Morgan, is the leader of the Saviors and one unpleasant gentleman. He carries around a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire that he refers to as Lucille.
Negan lectures Rick and his gang on the new order of things and how they are going to give half of everything they have to the Saviors. Negan also selects one of the members from Rick’s gang to be beaten to death in front of all of them.
While viewers don’t see who is selected to be executed, our guess is either Abraham or Aaron. The Abraham guess is because whoever got killed seemed to handle the first vicious blow rather well, so it had to be someone thick skulled. Plus Abraham made a fatal mistake of making potential future plans with Sasha earlier in the episode. But it could also have been Aaron, because (let’s be honest here), would that character really be missed that much?
In reality — zombie television reality — any of the characters could’ve been on the receiving end of Lucille. Maybe the whole group crawled under a dumpster at the last moment? I guess we’ll just have to wait for Season 7 to find out.
Season 7 of The Walking Dead will premiere in October 2016.
