Want to be a movie star? Start as an extra in a flick being filmed in Charlotte this fall
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – If you are in the Charlotte area and are seeking fame and stardom, there’s an upcoming opportunity for you to showcase your extraordinary talents.
A casting call for a big Hollywood movie set to be filmed in Queen City is looking for extras. The movie, currently titled ‘Apopka‘ and featuring the talented Sydney Sweeney playing a legendary female boxer, is looking for multiple positions including boxers and background extras, according to Southern Casting Call.
Extras will be paid and filming will take place in Charlotte from late September through mid-November.

This is the second movie being filmed in the area. The other is ‘Roofman‘ starring Channing Tatum and is based on a true story of a man who broke into McDonald’s chains through the roof in the Charlotte area and across the U.S.
Charlotte has been in the Hollywood headline news following unsubstantiated claims that Hollywood power couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are moving to the area.
