Want to be a TV Extra? 'The Gilded Age' seeks Newport extras this fall

NEWPORT – The producers of the Julian Fellowes drama "The Gilded Age" are looking for local residents who want to be paid as extras when the HBO series films for Season 3 in Newport in October and November.
Extras will portray people from the 1880s, and must meet certain criteria related to that time period:
OK working around smoke.
No allergies to wool.
No visible tattoos.
Natural hair colors only, including no highlights.
No buzz cuts or modern hairstyles.
Must be OK with a period haircut.
Women will be fit in corset and bustle.

Filming dates are Oct. 9 to 28 and Nov. 18 to 26, and extras must be available for costume fitting before shooting starts, with fittings beginning Sept. 23.
Members of the Screen Actors Guild will be paid $52 for two hours of fitting and $216 for an eight-hour day of shooting, while non-union extras will be paid $40 for two-and-a-half hours of fitting and $176 for a 10-hour day of shooting.

Submissions for minors must be sent by a parent or guardian and include date of birth and age.
