Watch: Abraham Lincoln assassin John Wilkes Booth hides in South in 'Manhunt' trailer

Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Apple TV+ released the trailer for Manhunt on Monday. The show premieres March 15.

Manhunt portrays the search for John Wilkes Booth (Anthony Boyle) after he assassinated President Lincoln (Hamish Linklater). Tobias Menzies plays Edwin Stanton, leader of the search.

Booth found shelter among the remaining Confederacy, even after the Union proved victorious in the Civil War. Anthony Boyle, Lovie Simone, Will Harrison, Brandon Flynn, Damian O'Hare, Glenn Morshower, Patton Oswalt, Lili Taylor and Matt Walsh also star.

The show is based on James L. Swanson's nonfiction book, Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer. Monica Beletsky adapted the book and showruns.

Two episodes premiere March 15 and new ones premiere weekly Fridays until the finale April 19.
