Watch Benson Take a Distress Call in Heartbreaking 'Law & Order: SVU' Clip (Exclusive)
Olivia Benson to the rescue! In an exclusive new clip from the next episode of Law & Order: SVU, Mariska Hargitay's character is led upstairs to where a woman is having an absolute meltdown. It's a heartbreaking scene, especially when the sister explains that she "just keeps yelling about my dad," and we all know what that means on this show.
The woman, Maggie, is rocking back and forth in the corner of a completely destroyed bedroom, mumbling, "I remember. I remember. He was here in my room. He was right here." Apparently, Maggie had already contacted Benson herself, but hadn't explained what was wrong. Unfortunately, it seems like we can guess, but at least she's being tended to by the best police captain possible.

The episode, titled "Excavation," centers on a woman regaining repressed memories after finding an old notebook in her family home, meaning Carisi (Peter Scanavino) is tasked with trying a case for a crime that happened decades ago. That becomes even more difficult when a powerful judge stalls the case, meaning this isn't going to be an easy episode for anyone.
Season 26 of Law & Order: SVU premiered last week and welcomed new Detective Kate Silva (Juliana Aidén Martinez) to the fold with a hell of a case. A law student was murdered in her bed, and two friends were assaulted because she said no to a man, but then had a threesome with the two friends. The guy knew about the threesome because he had installed cameras in her bedroom and did not know that the woman had literally been attending a self-help group to help gain the confidence to tell him she wasn't interested. Based on the clip above, it seems like new week, new nightmares!
Check out the clip above for an exclusive sneak peek of this week's episode. Law & Order: SVU airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on NBC, following Law & Order at 8 p.m.
