Post Malone's headlining set Friday on Bonnaroo's biggest stage featured pyrotechnics, fireworks and one very special guest.

Bluegrass artist Billy Strings joined Malone on the What Stage halfway through his set, which began at 11 p.m. Friday,

The "Congratulations" singer has been making inroads into country music, ahead of an upcoming country album, and after a guest surprise appearances at last week's CMA Fest, rumors of a country artist joining Malone at Bonnaroo were persistent.

The duo performed a slow, acoustic version of Malone's 2018 song "Stay." Billy Strings layered acoustic finger-picking and sonic guitar flutters underneath Malone's raspy voice.

Afterwards, Malone told the crowd that he thinks Billy Strings is the best guitar player on planet Earth. Having the opportunity to perform with Strings was a big moment for him, he said.
