Céline Dion’s heart will go on — for football? The singer made a surprise appearance in a promo for Sunday Night Football last night, set to her song “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.”

In the unexpected clip, Dion wore a vintage 1996 Super Bowl sweatshirt and reminisced about the past match-up between the Cowboys and the Steelers. “I think my favorite thing about this game is its power to connect who we are, to who we were.” Dion said. “To prove that our most powerful memories, our most enduring loves, can stay with us forever. You know what I’m talking about, right? Sometimes, some nights, it all just comes back.”

Over footage of the game, Dion continued, “Their love affair, well maybe not love the way I usually sing about it. But still, work with me here. I mean, ‘When you touch me like this, When you hold me like that’… it kind of fits, no? But really, what beautiful passion it produced. What painful heartbreak it revealed. So, so long ago. Like so many old flames, it always feels right when they’re back together, don’t you think? Like tonight, evoking the kind of magic they once produced. The Cowboys and the Steelers, a timeless classic on Sunday night.”

At the end of the video, Dion was doused in Gatorade alongside vintage footage of the teams’ coaches. Certainly not something we had on our 2024 bingo card.

Dion’s appearance in the NFL spot follows her performance during the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony, during which she belted out édith Piaf’s famous song, “Hymne à L’amour,” or “The Hymn to Love,” while standing beneath the illumination of the six Olympic rings.

Dion’s showing in Paris was a huge moment for the singer after she shared she was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022. “I’m honored to have performed tonight, for the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony, and so full of joy to be back in one of my very favorite cities!” the singer wrote on X. “Most of all, I’m so happy to be celebrating these amazing athletes, with all their stories of sacrifice and determination, pain and perseverance.”

In August, Dion’s management and record label called out Donald Trump’s campaign for its “unauthorized usage” of “My Heart Will Go On,”  one of her signature hits from 1997’s Titanic.

“Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana,” they said in a statement. “In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use.”
