Watch Devon Sawa Unbox Nostalgic Items from His 30-Year Film Career (Exclusive)

The 'Chucky' actor threw it back to several of his most notable films, including childhood roles in 'Little Giants,' 'Casper' and 'Now and Then'

Devon Sawa is taking a trip back in time.

The former teen heartthrob, who currently stars on the Syfy series Chucky, recently participated in a fun "Nostalgia Box" session with PEOPLE, rifling through items from over the course of his 30-year film career — much of which his mom sent him especially for the occasion.

First up? A helmet and jersey Sawa wore for his big-screen debut in 1994's Little Giants, in which he appeared as Junior Floyd, a talented young football player under the tutelage of underdog coach Danny O'Shea (Rick Moranis).

Holding up a VHS copy of the kids' sports comedy, the Canadian actor, now 45, tells PEOPLE, "I think I can get, like, a good $750 on eBay for this bad boy. Still in the wrapping!"

"Maybe we'll do a reunion movie one day," Sawa adds of Little Giants, which turns 30 in October, also revealing he still keeps in touch with much of the cast via social media.

Other films Sawa touches on and shares memorabilia from include 1995's Casper (which "changed my life," he says), Now and Then (1995) and Wild America (1997).

He also briefly addresses his current relationship with his Wild America costar Jonathan Taylor Thomas, a fellow '90s child star who hasn't appeared in a live-action role in more than 15 years.

"Sweetest kid ever," Sawa says. "I spoke to him recently — as recent as six or seven years ago, I think. I got on the phone with him. He's happy and well."

He jokes that Thomas, now 42, "was holding the championship belt in Teen Beat world back then, and I knew it, but I wasn't gonna let him know that."

"I secretly was bitter and jealous of him, because everybody was a Jonathan [fan]," Sawa continues. "If there were 10 girls, eight of them were Jonathan Taylor Thomas [fans], one of them was me and maybe [the other was a fan of] other guys."

After poking fun at his "infamous McDonald's arches"-style bowl haircut, Sawa dives into his role in Eminem's "Stan" music video and his career as a bit of a scream king since the early 2000s, including memorable turns in Idle Hands (1999) and Final Destination (2000).

"Scream had come out first [in 1996], and that's what kicked off this young-teen-horror [trend]," he says, citing I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) and Disturbing Behavior (1998).

Sawa admits he felt "burnt out" after Final Destination since he'd been working constantly for so long, and took a break from acting as a result before he "fell in love with it again" in his late 20s.

"I had to learn to re-love it like I did when I was 15," he adds.
