We can’t smell what The Rock was cooking this weekend, but we imagine it involved a hefty portion of fresh bass.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson delighted fans with a video of himself fishing in a small pond while singing Merle Haggard's "That's the Way Love Goes.” The peaceful, one-and-a-half minute video ends with Johnson hooking a “fighter” of a bass.

“Worth it,” he tells the camera while showing off his catch. “Got my shoes wet. But she’s beautiful.”

Moving the fish around to showcase every impressive angle, the former WWE star estimated that it weighed somewhere between four and five pounds. “Or maybe even eight,” he mused, adding that his “math is always off” when he catches a fish.

“She was fiery, but ‘that’s the way love goes,’ and she loves me singing Merle.. my kinda gal,”  he captioned the video on social media, referencing Haggard’s country classic.

Fans of The Rock won’t be surprised by his choice to sing a Haggard song. Before he began a career in professional wrestling, the A-lister was determined to become a country star. Seriously!

Johnson elaborated on his one-time dream after going viral for singing a duet of a Loretta Lynn song with Kelly Clarkson in 2022.

“Fun fact when I was 15 living in Nashville, I would hang out in country bars on Music Row lookin’ to become a country singer,” he wrote on Twitter. “I’d sing Hank Jr, Merle, Willie etc in the streets. Life is crazy.”

We’re glad you’re still belting out the country classics, Dwayne!
