If you think that all NFL players are just tough jocks only interested in football and hitting the gym, you couldn’t be more wrong!

On the field, MVP means Most Valuable Player, but in title of CBS’ new talent show airing live Thursday night, MVP stands for “Most Valuable Performer.”

Don’t be fooled into thinking this is any normal talent show, however, as all the performers are current, active NFL players who just happen to have other hidden talents.

The competitors swapping the gridiron for a stage at the Avalon Hotel in Hollywood include: Brandon Williams (singing), Justin Tucker (opera) and Alex Collins (Irish step dancing) of the Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart (piano), Domata Peko (guitar) of the Denver Broncos and Cleveland Browns guard Kevin Zeitle (dog tricks).

The show is a collaboration between ACE Media, the NFLPA and CBS — with a little magic and a whole lot of talent from the players thrown into the mix.

It is hosted by LL Cool J, with Sharon Osbourne as a celebrity mentor, and Katharine McPhee (“American Idol,” “Scorpion”), Maz Jobrani (“Superior Donuts”) and Brandon Marshall (New York Giants wide receiver ) judging the talent.

“While we knew pro football players had talents off the field, we had no idea how deep their talents go,” said Robert Horowitz, JUMA Entertainment President. “The focus, discipline and competitive fire that serve them so well on the field will be on full display as they step into the MVP spotlight.

“Watching many of these players perform their skills, it quickly becomes apparent that, if they had picked up a violin when they were five, they probably would have ended up a concert violinist,” he added.

“MVP: Most Valuable Performer” airs live tonight at 8 p.m. ET (delayed PT) on the CBS.
