Watch Rapper KYLE Debut an Unreleased Song, 'Over It'

From Esquire

If you haven’t heard of KYLE, the oddball rapper from Los Angeles, then you’d probably recognize one of his music videos. They’re pretty hard to forget. See: “iSpy” with Lil Yachty, where the duo looks like they put on the big-head cheat from a retro sports video game.

According to KYLE, he even has a new album soon. So, as part of our new video series, “Unreleased”—where we ask musicians to show us their brand-new (or old, and unheard by fans) tracks, we asked KYLE if he’d play us something from it. The accommodating dude he is, he gave us a peek of “Over It.”

“One day, I got the opportunity to work with this very awesome, very talented, very legendary producer named Happy Perez,” KYLE said. “He didn’t actually have time to sit there and make any beats, but he had this loop. So he just gave us the loop and said, ‘Just write to a bunch of these songs and see what you feel.”

And “Over It” was born—which sounds too good to not make it into his upcoming album. KYLE agrees.

It’s never been released because it hasn’t come out on this brand-new album of mine yet,” he said. “So one day, it will be out. But until then, it will just be between us.”

At this point, we’re halfway to finishing a full mixtape of songs from our Unreleased series. Check out “Renegade” rapper K CAMP debut an never-before-heard track called "Catching Fire," and “WHATS POPPIN” artist Jack Harlow play a clip from “Nothin to a Boss.”
