What to Wear to Charli xcx's Tour If You're a Brat Who Feels the Rush

Calling all 365 party girls: Charli xcx and Troye Sivan’s SWEAT Tour kicks off tonight in Detroit.

2024 has been Charli's year: BRAT received both critical and mainstream acclaim — it's one of our top albums of the year — and even though Charli said "goodbye forever"to brat summer earlier this month, she's clearly not slowing down any time soon. Just this week, she announced the Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat remix album featuring some of today's biggest names in music ("hey Billie, you there?") and now, she's headlining her first U.S. arena tour.

As a long-time fan of both Charli and Troye, I’ve been waiting for this tour since the moment it was announced. And like every on-the-calendar-months-in-advance concert, it needs an outfit to match. This is not the time to hold back. It's giving black-and-green everything, Y2K shoulder bags, baggy pants (or no pants!), and, of course, sunglasses. Brats who feel the rush, this one’s for you.

But wait, I still need tickets!!!

Fear not. I'm here to help. There are a select few SWEAT dates that actually have face value tickets left, like Nashville, TN on Oct. 2, Miami on Oct. 5, or Los Angeles night two on Oct. 16. You can nab those on Ticketmaster.

For sold-out shows, resale tickets on StubHub are your best bet. Fun fact: StubHub's resale processing fee (10%) is slightly lower than Ticketmaster's (12.5%), which can def make a difference when you're buying $100+ tix for you and the group chat! Here are a few of the best resale prices I'm seeing on StubHub, at the time of publish:

• Chicago on Sept. 30, starting at $152

• Atlanta on Oct. 3, starting at $163

• San Francisco on Oct. 20, starting at $130

• Seattle on Oct. 23, starting at $71

If you're trying to join the one (and only, *cries*) New York show on Sept. 23, you're going to have to shell out at least $215.

There would be no BRAT without brat green. The color heard 'round the world this summer will undoubtedly be the biggest theme of dress at the SWEAT Tour. My biggest piece of advice for nailing this look: Get the shade right. Of course, it’s hard to be exact (it's hex code #8ACE00, in case you were wondering), so just know we’re going for slime green or lime green here — not Kelly green or olive.

Other fun ways to channel the brat green energy? A) Invest in a piece that’ll stay in your closet for years from a brand Charli actually wears, like Helmut Lang or Acne Studios. Every time you pull it out, you'll harken back to the nostalgic days of 2024. Or B) Accentuate your look with brat green makeup and accessories.

Charli’s personal style during the BRAT era shone through at her star-studded 32nd birthday party in Los Angeles and at her Boiler Room sets in Brooklyn and Ibiza this summer. If you're on the floor for the SWEAT Tour or you’ll be raging at an after-party all night long, dress the part in a look that’s ready to move. You can’t go wrong with a white top (A tank! A strappy! A shredded tee! BRAT merch! Really, you can't go wrong), black shorts, knee-high boots, and sunglasses. Also, if you really want to take it ~there~, channel Charli's Brooklyn look by snatching your eyes back with tape.

Charli and Troye have quite a few songs together (hiii, "Talk talk" remix that just dropped this week!), but their most memorable collaboration has to be "1999." Back in 2018, they ushered in the Y2K revival with a song and music video stacked with nostalgic references to Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, clear Apple computers, and the Sims, complete with Matrix-themed single art. The song will undoubtedly be a highlight of the setlist, so channel the era with some of our fave Y2K celeb trends, like cargo pants, platform shoes, and split-bottom tops. (Yes, I know the split-bottom top featured is a *technically* a swim coverup, but it's so affordable and, honestly? Wearing clothes outside of their intended purpose is brat.)

This aesthetic also speaks to Troye Sivan's style, and those looking to channel him for their tour outfit. I found the exact Ludovic de Saint Sernin crystal cropped tee that Troye has worn on multiple occasions, and it's on major sale RN. Real ones will know.

Charli's fans are called Angels. And if you're reading this, you probably already knew that. Those who have been riding for Charli since her breakout feature on Icona Pop’s "I Love It" should flex their Angel status by referencing a look from the XCX archives. Whether it’s a leopard dress inspired by the Sucker album cover, a giant pink faux fur circa 2013, a subversive necktie, or a nod to classic British fashion (a Vivienne Westwood choker will NEVER go out of style, ok?!), these looks will set you apart from the sea of brat green.

Or, if you’re one to take things literally, dress as an actual angel in white. Go the pretty route with a feathered white dress, or get kitschy with a costume halo.

Your SWEAT Tour outfit is incomplete without sunglasses. I don’t make the rules!!! When asked what clothing item gives brat energy, Charli said "Sunglasses always. Sunglasses indoors, sunglasses at night, sunglasses so you can't see... That's brat."

Shoutout to Instagram account @closetxcx who recently posted a glorious grid of all (er, some) of the exact sunglasses Charli has worn throughout the BRAT era so far. Thematically, it’s all about black, wraparound frames calling back to that "1999"/Matrix aesthetic. Of course, she has a penchant for designer frames that cost upwards of $400. If you want to splurge on one of those exact pairs, go off. If you want to save some coin, I found similar options at more affordable brands and even some Amazon dupes. You’re welcome.
