The Wedding Ended In Disaster On General Hospital…And It’s All Sonny’s Fault
Brook Lynn and Chase may have survived their wedding on General Hospital, but not everyone is leaving the festivities unscathed after the May 17, 2024 cliffhanger.
Dwelling On Dex
Throughout the reception, Sonny (Maurice Benard) made his hatred for Dex (Evan Hofer) evident every time the new cop spoke to members of the Cerullo Family. First, when Dex bonded with Gio (Giovanni Mazza, who debuted on GH this week), Sonny asked Lois (Rena Sofer) to separate the two. Later when Dex kindly offered Gloria (Ellen Travolta) a glass of water, Sonny watched on ready to kill.
It wasn’t until the end of the night when Dex went looking for Carmine (George Russo) to return a lost hearing aid that Sonny followed his former employee out, and Jason (Steve Burton, who just revealed his real-life romance) wasn’t far behind them.
Fast Fists
When Sonny found Dex alone, he tore into him about getting close to the Cerullos, warning him to stay away from anyone who was like family to him. Dex tried reasoning with Sonny, but as soon as he laid a gentle hand on him, Sonny immediately punched back.
Sonny left Dex with a beaten eye and bloody lip, and the punches didn’t stop until Jason finally ran in and grabbed his former friend. Jason’s appearance only angered Sonny more when he began shouting, “I’m going to put a gun in your heads!”
The threat was met with the loud crash of plates that were dropped by a shocked Kristina (Kate Mansi), who overheard it all. With Monday’s teaser showing Josslyn (Eden McCoy) tending to a beaten Dex and Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) telling a crying Kristina they need to go to the hospital, only time will tell what damage Sonny has just caused.
Do you think Jason will be able to talk Sonny down? Let us know in the comments.
