Ariana Grande Glows As the New Face of Swarovski

You can call her Ari, Cat, Glinda, and now, the new face of Swarovski.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Ariana Grande has joined the Swarovski team as the newest ambassador and face of the brand, an announcement that was accompanied by gorgeous shots of the singer—taken by Mert Ala? and Marcus Piggott—wearing a strapless black dress and dazzling jewelry courtesy of her new business partner.

“I am thrilled to be Swarovski’s brand ambassador,” Grande said in a statement. “It’s an honor to represent a house that shares my passion for creativity, pushes the boundaries beyond the world of jewelry, and promotes values of unapologetic self-expression. I cannot wait to embark on this journey and to inspire others to embrace their own unique sparkle.”

This collaboration will kick off with a holiday campaign later this year, and Swarovski global creative director Giovanna Engelbert expressed her excitement about it, saying: “Ariana’s charisma and positive energy resonate with Swarovski’s essence of bringing joy to the world, and I am thrilled that she is joining us as brand ambassador.”

Virgil Abloh’s Final Shoe Honors the Skater Community

With skateboarding making its return to the Summer Olympics this month following its debut at the 2020 games, the sport is reaching all kinds of new exposure and interest. And to add to the fanfare, Off-White just unveiled their latest sneaker, the VULC 779, which is inspired by and dedicated to the global skater community.

As the final shoe designed by the brand’s founder, Virgil Abloh, the sneaker was imagined with the skate park in mind, and Abloh wanted to protect the parts of the shoe that will come into contact with a skateboard, such as the toe cap, heel cup, and sole.

Deriving its name from the area code where Abloh was born (Rockford City, Illinois), the release of this new vulcanized rubber tennis shoe was accompanied by a campaign starring skaters such as Gabriel Fortunato, Adrianne Sloboh, Davey Sales, Yuri Facchini, Jessyka Bailey, and Marie De Courcy.

“It is our way to celebrate skate culture and pay homage to a community we highly respect,” Off-White CEO Cristiano Fagnani said. “It is about our love for sport, for the youths we want to inspire and be inspired by.” The VULC 779 will make its debut this September.

Laura Harrier Turns Vintage Clothing Into Summer Staples for Reformation

Those who keep a close eye on red carpets could tell you that Laura Harrier has quite the impressive closet. As it turns out, the Hollywood actor has been collecting vintage pieces for years, an assemblage that helped to inspire the new collection of pieces that she helped design for Reformation.

“I always wanted to do it with the right partner, something that felt natural and organic,” she told Bazaar upon the release of the summer collection, which includes 18 pieces made from sustainably-sourced material, including dead stock fabric.

Reformation started as a shop that exclusively sold vintage pieces, so it felt like the perfect collaboration when Harrier was looking to get into design. “I’ve been a Reformation customer for, honestly, like, over a decade. I used to shop at their store on the Lower East Side, when it was actually mainly vintage, and was obsessed with it,” Harrier says.

You can shop the Reformation × Laura Harrier collection online and in select stores now, with prices ranging from $88 to $578.

Sandy Liang and Salomon Team Up Again to Make Swoonworthy Sneakers

After Sandy Liang and Salomon united to make the XT-6 Expanse sneakers last May (which sold out instantly, by the way), the two fashion brands have teamed up yet again to make more swoonworthy sneakers, both of which dropped on Thursday and also quickly sold out.

The drop consisted of two new styles: the Speedcross 3 Ribbon ($160) and the RX MJ ($150), in both black and white. The Speedcross looks like your typical athletic sneaker, except it’s elevated with a silky pink ribbon that ties up the leg. Meanwhile, the RX MJ criss-crosses across the top of the foot like a ballet flat, with breathable mesh material that makes the Mary Jane perfect for the office or an afternoon hike.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Liang noted that she took inspiration from a recent trip to Ireland. “I was excited to create a collection with Salomon for the girl who goes on adventures and isn’t afraid to get dirt on her dress or mud on her shoes,” she said.

However, if you missed out on the first drop, fear not, because Sandy Liang x Salomon 2.0 will be launching worldwide on July 25.

Grammy Award-winning singer Miley Cyrus and Gucci Creative Director Sabato de Sarno co-hosted a star-studded bash in Los Angeles on Thursday night at the swanky Chateau Marmont. The pool party was not just a good excuse to throw a fête, but also to celebrate the latest Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid eau de parfum campaign, of which Cyrus is the face.

The event was attended by numerous A-listers, including Kendall Jenner, Salma Hayek, Law Roach, Finneas O’Connell, Kim Petras, David LaChapelle and more. Meanwhile, Cyrus performed for guests by doing a rendition of her no. 1 hit song, “Flowers.”

The campaign, which launched at the end of June, saw Cyrus lying in a field of flowers in front of the Hollywood sign, holding up a bottle of the Gucci Beauty product while wearing a ribbed gray top and oxblood leather hot pants. Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid is the house’s first ozonic floral gourmand scent.
