It’s the lead single from his upcoming album Hurry Up Tomorrow, which will serve as the third and final installment of his After Hours and Dawn FM trilogy. “There is always pressure to surpass my last project. Growth is important,” he told Billboard Brazil in his latest cover story. “Sometimes it may not be what people want to hear from me at the moment, but, when the body of work is complete, I hope they can appreciate what I have been trying to achieve. I have been working on this discography for a long time. It was all planned.”

He first performed “Dancing in the Flames” and more new Hurry Up Tomorrow tracks for the first time at his special one-night-only at Estádio MorumBIS in S?o Paulo, Brazil show on Sept. 7. The Weeknd also debuted collaborations with Billboard‘s current cover star Playboi Carti, who accepted the Artist of the Year Award at the Billboard‘s 2024 R&B Hip-Hop Power Players event last week, and Brazilian star Anitta.

The Canadian-Ethiopian superstar (real name Abel Tesfaye) previewed the music video earlier this week, which was shot on the new iPhone 16 Pro and directed by Anton Tammi, who also helmed the iconic music videos for his After Hours era, including for his Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s “Blinding Lights” and “Heartless.”
