This Week's Biggest Sneaker Releases, and Where to Get Them
Sometimes, a minimal sneaker is called for. Something neutral, with a low-key silhouette that doesn't say too much or do too much or take too much effort to wear. Sometimes—but not this week. This week, the sneaker releases are big, bold, and colorful. It's really something we can get behind, especially at this point in the year. We want to exclusively be wearing shorts and a T-shirt, so we might as well make the shoes pop, right?
There's no shortage of fun shoes this week. Nike is dropping a multicolored sneaker inspired by summer hoops; Adidas is dropping a forest green skate shoe; and Puma is dropping a futuristic-looking sneaker that has everything to do with NASA. All that and more for this week's drops. Here's what's coming.
Nike Air Skylon II x Fear of God
Jerry Lorenzo takes his penchant for the luxe to Nike's Air Skylon II. The mostly white sneaker has some upgraded details that make the whole thing feel high-end, like cool white suede. The laces are toggle style, which looks kind of like if a bolo tie became a lacing system. For a clean pair, you can't beat 'em.

Nike KD12 Nationals
These are the exact opposite of a clean white pair of sneakers. This kind of trippy, floaty color scheme takes inspiration from playing basketball in the heat. Specifically, playing in Peach Jam, Nike's youth tournament that brings in hoops recruiters for the young'ns. The bright, sherbet-y colors are meant to make a statement. And they do.

Adidas Tyshawn Shoes

Most sneakers have roots in sports. These shoes are a meeting of both skate and basketball worlds. They're inspired by basketball sneakers (peep that mid-top), but they're meant for skating. Skater Tyshawn Jones serves as the muse for these forest green suede picks. At $85, they're a fun summer buy if you're looking to add something fresh into rotation.

Adidas Spider-Man D.O.N. Issue #1 'Symbiote'

These shoes came together from a few different sources of inspiration. First of all, basketball. Second, famed basketball player Donavan Mitchell. Third, Spider-Man. It's part of the Spider-Man-themed collection, but in a D.O.N. Issue #1 shape. The result is something that you can really wear to play. And in something that makes a statement. Black and pink is a fun combination that we don't see too often on court. Maybe now's the time.

Air Jordan XIII 'White/Court Purple'
Another standout color combination: white and purple. It's a move, for sure, but so is the Air Jordan XIII by nature. The shape, which is at once futuristic and retro, is a basketball sneaker in the truest sense of the word: When you see it, there's no doubt where it came from. The color has a story, too. It comes from the longstanding rivalry between the Chicago Bulls and L.A. Lakers. Of course, you don't need to step foot on a court to make 'em work.

Nike Air Max 200 'Mystic Green'
These shoes are a move and the perfect opportunity to wear a sneaker that has color. So much color. But even the combination of green, tan, blue, and pink sits on a white backdrop, making it at least feel grounded in something neutral. These have a new side Air pocket, which gives the whole shoe more height. Size up 1.5 to fit a men's foot.

Kith x Asics Gel-Kayano 5 OG
These thick white Asics are everything good about dad sneakers and nothing more. Looking for something comfy you can wear with high white socks and shorts? Look no further. The Gel-Kayano 5 OG is a very (very!) good shoe for running in, so it gets the job done as just a daily sneaker, too. Ronny Fieg brings in some summery coloring to make the shoe pop, including hits of yellow and turquoise. Get 'em if you can.

Nike x NASA 50th PG 3
Apollo 11's 50th anniversary is getting celebrated in huge ways, not excluding the sneaker world. This Nike x NASA sneaker is as spacey as you might hope, done up in a complete silver coloring. (The moon is silver, right? Right??) The shoe itself is also one of the most low-key basketball silhouettes around, making it easy to wear in real life, too. If you like a monochromatic sneaker, this is not one to miss.

Adidas PW Solar Hu

Adidas and Pharrell Williams dropped a sneaker in a similarly all-gray option. The Solar Hu running shoes are a fan-favorite shape from the brand as of late, and new colorways are just bringing more customers to the shoes. The cushy sole and breathable upper makes it a perfectly aired-out sneaker for summer, too.

Puma Cell Alien x NASA
Everyone is about that NASA launch, including Puma. This week, the brand drops a sneaker in black with iridescent, sparkly detailing, which are of course a nod to space. Crinkly silver spacesuits, starry skies, and reflective light all serve as inspiration for the coloring here. Plus, the black background is nothing if not reminiscent of the black abyss that is space.
