For context, back in September 2021, Wendy canceled her promotional obligations for Season 13 of her show, citing "ongoing health issues." Wendy then tested positive for COVID, and the start of Season 13 kept being delayed until guest hosts started to take the helm.

Then, earlier this month, reports emerged that Wells Fargo had frozen Wendy's accounts, alleging that she was of "unsound mind," "incapacitated," and "the victim of undue influence and financial exploitation" who needed a temporary guardianship. Wendy's lawyer, in turn, issued a statement saying that she "strenuously denies all allegations about her mental health and well-being. ... During this hiatus from the show, Wendy has employed holistic health professionals to help her reach optimal health during her treatment of Graves’ disease and thyroid concerns."

Fast-forward to yesterday, and a new video popped up where Wendy is walking down the beach and answering questions from who many believe to be her son, Kevin Hunter Jr.

"I'm here in Florida. I come here often. I have real family — mother, father, sister, brother — family. It's very peaceful, being here," she says in the video.

"This is a break from New York. New York is fast paced, which I loved. I love here, in Florida, as much as I do New York — but they are two very different things, and people."

When asked about people who were thinking about her and sending "prayers," Wendy replied, "Thank you. I am going back stronger. Admittedly so, at 56 years old, there are things that happen to people — things usually start about 40, and they go from there. So you've got to eat the right food," she added, before talking about vegan and vegetarian food.

"I want to be all I can be and then get back to New York and get on down with the Wendy Williams Show," she said near the end of the clip.

Some fans began to speculate that the clip wasn't a recent one — as Wendy's mom died in 2020 and she's actually 57, not 56 like she says at numerous points in the video. A rep for Wendy told Page Six that the video was shot on Wednesday, but she misspoke about her age and meant that her mother was buried in Florida.
