Wendy Williams breaks down during interview after question about divorce
Talk show host Wendy Williams broke down during a recent interview on SiriusXM after being asked about her pending divorce with husband Kevin Hunter.
Williams sat down with host Karen Hunter (no relation to Kevin), and she asked if Williams had gotten around to dropping her married name from her credit cards and bank accounts. “No. My name is ‘Wendy Hunter.’ That’s my son’s name. And you can’t take away…” said Williams, trailing off as she became overwhelmed by emotions. “Don’t make me…” continued Williams, again overcome.
After a long pause, Williams composed herself and signaled to Karen that she was ready to move on to the next question with just one pointed word: “Next.”
Later on during the sit-down, Karen threw another tough question at Williams. “Is there a chance, and this is very complicated,” she began, seemingly about to ask if there’s the possibility of a reconciliation between Williams and her estranged husband.
“No!” Williams interrupted. “Don’t ask.” Karen tried to ask again, saying “Is there a chance...” but Williams wasn’t interested in answering, firing back a decisive “No!”
Viewers spoke out on Twitter with messages of support for Williams:
Wounds are still so fresh. Damn anybody who dares to judge. Like all of us, she is a work in progress - except she can’t hide because of her celebrity. Bravo Wendy for being transparent! Love you ladies. 💕

Others weren’t as sympathetic, and some felt Williams hasn’t been as up front about her struggles as she’s claimed:
While I don't wish any pain on anyone. It's hard for me to feel bad for the woman who tortured Whitey Houston for years. When we all knew Whitney was sick from addiction. Those tables always turn?

Me too! I'm hoping Wendy is going to be open and honest about her addiction. She has the capacity to help so many people if she does that.
