Wendy Williams says leaving Kevin Hunter after love child was a no-brainer: 'I'm not changing Pampers. I want to be pampered.'
Wendy Williams’s personal life was a hot topic on Thursday’s The View. She was grilled about her divorce, sobriety and her soon-to-be ex-husband’s love child.
It was no holds barred as the Wendy Williams Show host appeared on the rival daytime chat show to promote the upcoming eleventh season of her show — and she got right into it. Asked about splitting with Kevin Hunter after nearly 22 years of marriage and 25 years together “because of his infidelity,” Williams said that she could have handled cheating — he had been unfaithful before — but Hunter fathering a child with a mistress was the dealbreaker.
"Infidelity is one thing," Williams shot back. “A full baby is a whole other topic.”
In true Williams style, she continued, "A baby. I'm not changing Pampers. I want to be pampered. Get out of here.”

Williams said deciding to end her marriage after learning about the baby was ultimately a very easy decision.
“I didn't even go back and forth with, ‘Oh, do we stay [together]? Maybe there's marriage counseling or something.’ No, no. You do this? Get out.”
Despite her stance, she’s vowed to herself not to publicly bash her ex. Partially for their 19-year-old son Kevin Jr.’s sake, but mostly because she still has love for her ex.
"I save that for when I get back to my bachelorette pad," she quipped, but then got serious. “Kevin's not a bad man. Big Kev. He's not a bad man. You can't just throw away 25 years and start talking recklessly about the other person — otherwise, what does that say about you? You know? I chose him and he chose me... Kevin will always be my family, no matter what and that's that. Life moves on."
Earlier this year, was a crazy time for Williams. Her marriage was unraveling as Hunter’s daughter with his mistress was about to be born. She was on and off her show with health problems. And it was then revealed that she had been living in a sober house in NYC. She was asked by the co-host about her addictions.
“Cocaine,” she replied without a beat. However, “that's been so over. It's, like, 25 years ago” when she stopped using. The reason she got sober was, “At the time I met Kevin was the time for me to make changes in my life.”
Williams said she moved into the sober house because that’s “the place to go where you can really plot on the next part of your life. She called it “rehab without wine. Rehab where they take your phone and lock it in a safe, so people can't call me and inject their opinions on my life because it's been a very, very difficult time”
She said it was an isolating period, but also a time for her to really assess her life — and plot to make big changes and divorce Hunter and get rid of him as her manager and executive producer of her show.
“I couldn't talk to my mom. Who wants to burden her? I couldn't talk to my sister. And most of my girlfriends would have said, you should have left him a long time ago,” she said. “But here's the deal. I'm not a selfish mom, and I'm a plot-ative individual — I will plot on you. That's why I'm going into Season 11, and he's changing Pampers.”
Williams — whose show returns Sept. 16 — added that her own "dance card has been full" since becoming single again and said she’ll consider marriage again down the line. "I am a wife, not a girlfriend."
