Who Went Home and Who Made It Through Night 2 on 'The Voice' Season 25 Playoffs

Maddi Jane

The Playoffs wrapped up on Monday night on Season 25 of The Voice with Reba McEntire and Chance the Rapper’s artists competing for the final three spots on their teams that will get them to the Live Shows.

Meanwhile, John Legend and Dan + Shay got to sit back and watch and comment on the performances as their Playoffs have already been completed with John putting through Bryan Olesen, Nathan Chester and Zoe Levert and Dan + Shay moving Karen Waldrup, Madison Curbelo and Tae Lewis into the Live Shows.

The artists on Team Reba got to work with guest mentor Grammy Award winner Anthony Ramos and those on Team Chance were coached by multi-platinum singer/songwriter Meghan Trainor, but it will be up to the individual coaches as to who goes through to the Live Shows. There are no Saves or Steals in this round.

The Voice gives an opportunity to so many different kinds of people,” Anthony said. “It’s not about how someone looks, it’s the voice. Being an artist, I love sharing things I’ve gone through in my career that could be helpful.”

Team Reba: Josh Sanders

Song: “Black Water” by The Doobie Brothers

Reba said: “Josh, you were great. The band worked so hard on getting that perfect ending and y’all got it. It was your best performance and it’s going to make it so difficult on me.”

Team Chance: Nadège – Playoff Pass

Song: “Clocks” by Coldplay

Chance said: “I think this is one of the best performances I’ve seen on this show. Your improvisations made the song into what I thought felt like a spiritual experience. Nadège has such a cool, angelic tone that she makes any song she sings her own. She’s going to be somebody we’re all listening to.”

Team Reba: Justin & Jeremy Garcia

Song: “Castle on the Hill” by Ed Sheeran

Reba said: “You took the notes that Anthony and I gave you the other day in rehearsals, tonight 60 times better. I love you guys singing separately, so when you come together and sing harmony, it makes it so much richer. And because you’re brothers, it tore me up when you looked at each other and said, ‘my brother.’ As I like to say, you are cute as a button, and I am so glad you’re on my team.”

Team Chance: Kyle Schuesler

Song: “Something in the Orange” by Zach Bryan

Chance said: “Great performance. We talked about intentionality around the lyrics. You focused a lot on enunciating and fervor with the lyrics. You had so many moments where I felt the emotion. I’m proud of what you did today and I’m proud to have you on Team Chance.”

Team Reba: Jackie Romeo

Song: “The Story” by Brandi Carlile

Reba said: “You sing like an angel and those lower parts; I think you handled them great. I am a proud little mama right now. Thank you for that. I think Jackie made a great case for herself. She sang her butt off.”

Team Chance: Serenity Arce

Song: “Lose You to Love Me” by Selena Gomez

Chance said: “You come in killer every week. There were some big moments in the song that you went for or created yourself. You emotion, your intentionality on lyrics, people notice and people feel. It’s going to be a tough decision that I make at the end, but you very much deserve to be in the Lives.”

Team Reba: L. Rodgers – Playoff Pass

Song: “All I Know So Far” by P!nk

Reba said: “I thought you did spectacularly well. I loved you standing when you took the mic off the microphone stand and took that pose, I got goosebumps. You tell a story with your face and your actions. You’re making my decision even harder. L Rodgers has a great look, a great voice, I was very moved by her performance.”

Team Chance: RLETTO

Song: “Holy” by Justin Bieber feat. Chance the Rapper

Chance said: “You have amazing stage presence. You got everybody involved. The way you directed the background vocalists was awesome. I just wish we got to really feel your range. But you are an amazing performer and you’ve given some amazing moments to the show this season, so it’s something I got to think long about.”

Team Reba: Asher HaVon

Song: “Titanium” by David Guetta feat. Sia

Reba said: “Asher, you command the stage so well. The way you stood still, you had everyone’s attention immediately. The song was great for you. To hear my fellow coaches talk about you like that, I couldn’t be more proud. Way to go. Asher could sing the phone book and make it a hit.”

Song: “Stay” by Rihanna feat. Mikky Ekko

Chance said: “Maddi, I am just so proud of you. It’s cool to see you be yourself every week. I just like how you carry yourself in every performance with the cool confidence you have. I’m proud you came out here and showed why you deserve to be on this show and in the Lives. When you sing, everybody gets excited.”

Then it was time for the coaches to decide which three of their artists were going to the Live Shows.
