Who Went Home Tonight on ‘The Golden Bachelorette’s Fantasy Suites?
The Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos was sobbing after one of her final three suitors dumped her at the end of Wednesday’s episode 7.
While the ABC franchise’s fantasy suites episode usually gives the star clarity about her favorite guys, one didn’t even go behind closed doors with Joan. Instead, he declared he wasn’t in love with her—and self-eliminated!
The shocker unfolded after Joan had sent Jordan Heller home in last week’s hometowns. The final three men traveling to romantic Tahiti with her would be Guy Gansert, Chock Chapple, and Pascal Ibgui.
Week 7 began with a familiar face, Joan’s fellow contestant Nancy Hulkower from Gerry Turner’s season of The Golden Bachelor, meeting her in Tahiti.
What happened during the pivotal episode?

What did Joan tell Nancy?
Joan was thrilled to see Nancy, who has become her close friend.
She filled Nancy in on her final suitors and described how she’d had a “slow smolder” with Guy, Pascal lived life big and had “swagger,” and Chock made her “feel safe and sexy.”
Nancy urged her to discuss important things with them in off-camera time.
Joan still felt an “overwhelming sense of guilt” about her late husband John Vassos’ memory and widower Nancy said it was fine for her to feel that way but still look for love.
“Follow your heart,” Nancy said. She offered to stay all week to support Joan!
What happened on Joan’s date with Guy?
Guy, who was falling in love with Joan, took a boat ride with her. He gushed to the blonde beauty, 61, “I didn’t think I could feel this way again.”
The handsome ER doc, 66, told Joan they were well-aligned!
Joan looked fabulous in her white bikini swimsuit, and had fun scuba diving with Guy.
“I have incredibly strong feelings,” Guy told cameras.
In the dinner part of their date, Joan told him that she felt like a relationship with him was possible.
But Joan told him she’d “put a lot of thought into fantasy suites.”
She said to Guy, confirming what she earlier revealed in a Parade.com interview about her no-sex stance, “When it comes to the physical part, I’m not going to do that with three people.”
Joan said, “I’m going to save that for my final person.”
Guy was understanding, replying, “I respect what you’re saying so much,” stressing that “emotional intimacy” was most important to him.
They agreed to go into the fantasy suite together to have private conversation.
The next day, Guy believed things had gone great!
How did Joan’s date with Chock go?
The Golden Bachelorette rode in an ATV with the insurance executive and felt safe with him.
Joan concluded that Chock was “all the things I want in a person” but worried that he was “too good to be true.”
Chock mused to cameras about his divorce and the recent death of his mother, but saw a future with Joan.
“I’m just crazy about you,” he told her. “There’s never been a doubt.”
He didn’t want to be “cocky,” but saw them as a couple.
Joan said, “I know you will never hurt me,” and told cameras, “Chock makes me feel seen.”
Chock, 61, gushed, “You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.”
Once again, Joan told her contestant that she didn’t feel comfortable having a physical relationship with more than one person.
Chock said he was “perfectly okay” with not having a sexual fantasy suite, and they proceeded inside.
The morning after, Chock said he had a “beautiful night” with Joan. “What did we do? That’s between Joan and myself…it was everything I expected and more.”
Did Pascal wreck Joan on their one-on-one date?
Last up for Joan was Frenchman Pascal, who has made fans laugh all season with his high-maintenance and fun-loving ways.
Pascal, 69, was thrilled to be in French-speaking Tahiti.
He told the cameras that a year ago, he’d been in love in an on-again, off-again relationship which had finally ended.
Reflecting on his early life of poverty in France, the salon owner who became successful in Chicago cried, “I come from a f---ed up background!”
He wanted to bring his wall down with Joan, but wasn’t happy having to participate in a serious Tahitian bonding ceremony with her. It required the two to let go of things that made them scared as they broke a coconut.
Pascal hoped to have a casual good time instead!
The business owner sighed that he was “confused. I wasn’t ready for that.”
He admitted his walls were still up.
Later, as he boarded Joan’s boat that evening, Pascal said he had to talk to her.
He told Joan, “I was very much in love last year,” and got his heart broken. His daughter had submitted him as a Golden Bachelorette contestant and he thought he wouldn’t last long with 24 men.
Joan told him he reminded her of her late husband, and felt a future with Pascal looked fun.
“I’m not looking for a replacement for John,” she said, but wanted adventure.
But Pascal said the ritual had scared him and “I don’t think I could get to the place where you want me to be.”
He added, “I know what love is. I care about you as a friend. But I’m not in love. I can’t be there.”
Pascal said, “I need that spark. I just don’t have it.”
Teary-eyed Joan told him, “I can’t force that.”
“I know she was not okay,” Pascal told cameras.
As he walked Joan away from cameras, he angrily shooed the crew away.
“I’m hurt that I hurt her,” he sighed.
Pascal bid Joan goodbye, and she said in confessional, crying about being jilted, “I wasn’t lovable…I feel like a failure.
“I might leave here with nobody.”
