Wes Anderson's Christmas Film for H&M Has Arrived
Wes Anderson would like to bring you some corporate-sponsored holiday cheer. In “Come Together,” a new short film he’s made for H&M (watch it above), the Grand Budapest Hotel director puts us on a train on a snowy Dec. 25, when Conductor Ralph (Adrien Brody) must deliver some unfortunate news to his passengers: The train has been rerouted and will not arrive at its destination until Christmas day has passed. But thanks to some ingenuity from the train crew, Christmas comes for the folks riding the rails after all.

The four-minute film has touches of Anderson’s previous films, including Budapest (which also features Brody as an enigmatic authority figure) and The Darjeeling Limited (which takes place aboard a train). Also pure Wes Anderson: the ambiguous time period, the throwback title cards, and the expertly edited soundtrack of vintage hits — Christmas-themed in this case, concluding with John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s “Happy Xmas (War Is Over).”

Though regarded as an indie auteur, Anderson is no stranger to directing commercials. Besides his self-parodying 2006 American Express commercial, Anderson has created ads for such brands as Ikea, Hyundai, and AT&T.
