Wesley Snipes responds to fan who wants to wear blackface as 'Blade': 'If you want a black eye with that costume go right ahead'
Wesley Snipes is known for responding to fan questions on Twitter, and one earlier this week grabbed his attention. It was about blackface, something that always offends and usually leads to an apology.
Mr Snipes my man, huge fan, I’m gonna be dressing as Blade for a fancy dress ting, is it offensive or ok if I was to use face paint to look more authentic? @wesleysnipes

Snipes kept his response short and to the point.
The tweet was later deleted.
In general, Snipes is all for people dressing as his iconic character from the 1998 vampire flick. Just last month, he complimented a fan’s rendition, which must have been a finalist, if not the winner, of someone’s costume contest.

Snipes happened to give his response about blackface on the same day that Variety reported that Megyn Kelly and NBC News are close to reaching a $30 million settlement agreement. The news follows the abrupt end of her show, Megyn Kelly Today, in late October, after Kelly defended blackface as part of Halloween costumes.
