‘Wheel Of Fortune’s Vanna White Opens Up About Her Future On The Show
Vanna White admits she thought about retirement herself after her decades-long co-star Pat Sajak, in 2023, announced his plans to step back in 2024.
When asked by TVInsider how long she thinks she’ll remain with the game show, White replied, “I don’t know. When I heard that Pat was retiring, I thought maybe I should retire too, but I’m not ready!’

White will be around for at least the next two years after signing a new deal. After lengthy negotiations, in September 2023, White extended her contract for an additional two years to continue on the hit syndicated game show through the 2025-26 season. She will be working alongside Wheel‘s new host, Ryan Seacrest, who will take over for Sajak next fall. Wheel of Fortune has been renewed through Season 45.
White also closed a new deal last year to return as host of ABC’s Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, which, as Deadline reported at the time, involves a significant salary increase. Her contract extension for the flagship syndicated show is believed to involve a pay raise, too. A fan favorite, White has been revealing letters at Wheel’s signature puzzleboard since 1982.
Sajak’s final Wheel of Fortune episode taped on April 5 and will air on Friday, June 7. While he will not appear on-air in the future, Sajak won’t be far away from hit syndicated game show. He agreed to stay on as a consultant on the show for three years following his final year hosting, said Suzanne Prete, EVP Game Shows at Sony Pictures Television, when Sajak announced his retirement.
