As spooky season ends and the holidays approach, it's time to look forward to this year's 98th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

This year's lineup is slated to showcase 22 floats, 17 character balloons, 15 heritage or novelty balloons and more than 700 clowns, according to NBC, which telecasts the event. The event will also feature performances by several music stars along with 11 marching bands and 10 performance groups.

The anchors of NBC's "Today" show, Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker, will continue their reign as the telecast's hosts.

Disney legend Minnie Mouse will debut her own 60-foot balloon at this year's parade joining Mickey Mouse, whose balloon debut was in 1934, Pluto (1934), Donald Duck (1935) and Goofy (1992).

Macy's is "super excited about bringing Minnie to life," Will Coss, executive producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, told USA TODAY last month. "It has been a Macy's Studios dream for quite some time, and the folks here on my team who've worked on the design, actually bringing that character to life as a balloon in the sky, couldn't be more excited about it."

Here's what you need to know about this year's parade.
