‘Who’s the Boss?’: 25 Years After the Finale, Where Are the Stars Now?
On April 25, 1992 — 25 years ago today — we tearfully said goodbye to Tony and Angela on Who’s the Boss? Did the three-part finale, coyly titled “Savor the Veal,” finally answer all our questions about the boss and who or what held that prestigious office? Not really, but at least we know Tony and Angela ended up together. In those 25 years since the kiss heard ‘round the world, what has the cast been up to?
Judith Light, who played Angela, is going into her fourth season of Amazon’s Transparent, a role that has garnered her much critical praise, including Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for supporting actress.
Tony Danza, who played Tony, has a long career of playing characters named Tony, but he’s stretching his talents, and playing Freddie, on Seeso’s There’s … Johnny. The sitcom will be a behind-the-scenes look at The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson in the 1970s.
Alyssa Milano, who played Samantha, charmed us for years on Melrose Place, Mistresses, and Charmed. And she’s attached to the follow-up to Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer series.
Danny Pintauro, who played Angela’s son, Jonathan, took time off from acting after the show to attend college. He came out as gay in a 1997 National Enquirer interview, and later revealed to Oprah that he is HIV-positive.
And lastly, who could forget Mona? Katherine Helmond has been doing mostly voice work in recent years, and will reprise her role as Lizzie in the upcoming Disney Pixar feature Cars 3.
