Why Brad Pitt’s Decision To Go Red Carpet Official With Ines de Ramon Was a ‘Big Deal’
It’s been almost two years since Brad Pitt began dating Ines de Ramon, and the couple waited until the Venice International Film Festival premiere of his new movie, Wolfs, to make their red carpet debut. The Sept. 1 appearance was surprising because the dynamic duo tried to keep their relationship relatively low-key — until now. So, what changed in Pitt and de Ramon’s PR strategy?
It seems that their romance has taken a “serious” turn, according to an US Weekly source, and “he’s very committed to her and their future.” That’s a pretty bold statement, especially since Pitt is still in a divorce battle with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie over the Chateau Miraval winery. For Pitt, the 31-year-old jewelry company executive and designer offers a fresh perspective to his life after his contentious split with Jolie.

Not only does “she brings out the best in Brad,” de Ramon “has been his rock through” all of his controversies. There have been plenty of scandals over the years from his alleged domestic violence incident in 2016 that led to his breakup with Jolie to most of his six kids making the decision individually to sever ties with their dad. Pitt admitted in 2019 that he had a plan for avoiding the headlines. “I stopped reading all press about 2004. Not just reviews. I mean any magazine in the doctor’s office,” he said. “Because some of it would bounce around like a rat in the skull,” he told The New York Times Magazine. “It would stay there, and it would inform some of my decisions and choices in work, in life, and I didn’t find any of it helpful.”
Pitt’s pals also reportedly believe that de Ramon might be the key to him ending his battle with Jolie. “Ines is so sick and tired of hearing Brad complaining about Angelina and being stuck in this ugly divorce loop,” a source explained to In Touch Weekly in August. “Sure, he’s officially divorced, but he’s just as entangled with Angelina as ever.” The Oscar winner also reportedly likes that de Ramon isn’t in the public eye, even though she tends to keep the company of famous men (she was previously married to Paul Wesley).
An OK! magazine insider shared in January that Pitt “appreciates Ines isn’t in the industry” and de Ramon “seems totally unfazed by his celebrity.” It sounds like a match made in heaven where they both get to “share a love of art” and celebrate their “mellow and artistic” personalities. Pitt’s relationship with de Ramon may go the distance once he wraps up his never-ending divorce from Jolie.
