Why Caroline Stanbury and Sergio Carrallo Might Not Make It
I’m here for a love conquers all story. But I am just not getting those warm fuzzies from Caroline Stanbury and her husband, Sergio Carrallo. The 48-year-old influencer has always been one to crack a sarcastic joke or break a fellow cast member’s balls. But poor sensitive, Sergio can’t handle this type of unrequited love from his now wife. The two have been bickering quite a lot on the new season of the Real Housewives of Dubai. And it hasn’t been pretty. At times, it truly feels like the duo despise one another more than they like each other.
Caroline has an end-game
On the most recent episode of the Real Housewives of Dubai, Caroline made a stunning prediction about the future of her marriage. After being pulled to the side by Taleen Marie, the former Ladies of London alum didn’t mince words about what she thought might happen in the future. The couple has a 19-year age gap, but fans weren’t expecting to hear Caroline say she gives the marriage ten to 15 years.
In typical Caroline fashion, viewers couldn’t tell if she was joking or being serious when she said, “We are having a wonderful time now, but one day he may not want to be here.” Caroline continued to say, “I don’t want Sergio to wake up when I’m 60 and he’s 40 and have to go, ‘Where’s my wife?'” It seems odd that Caroline is possibly already planning a killer divorce party before her first wedding anniversary.
Do Caroline’s children like Sergio?
A major red flag for any blended family is to see how the kids get on with the new beau. Sergio is still young, but he was thrust from being a single man in Miami to being a stepfather of three. And it seems the former professional soccer player turned personal driver to Caroline may feel some sort of way. Caroline was quick to answer, sharing, “We’re really okay. You know, they want to push boundaries. He’s not their father. He has this role that’s between a father and a big brother, right? And it’s very difficult. Yasmine and I have a very dry sense of humor, and I’ve told her the jokes I make to him aren’t appropriate from her. I’ve spoken to her, but there’s only so much I can do. Sergio also needs to understand she’s a 17-year-old girl.”
As viewers, we haven’t seen a lot of Sergio interacting with Caroline’s children. As the Real Housewives star noted, her children hadn’t been living with her for the last three months due to their impending move. I can imagine the children don’t feel that Sergio is a responsible adult to look up to. It did come across as odd at how upset he became when he wasn’t invited on Yasmine’s college tour in America. I wonder if Sergio’s clinginess to Caroline hinders him from really bonding with the children.
Sergio is too needy
As an outsider looking in, I feel like Serg is too clingy. One scene shows Caroline trying to sort out the utilities for their new home, but she is interrupted by her husband. She explained to Sergio she needed to get the paperwork done but he kept on asking questions – like a petulant child. All Sergio was doing was moving Caroline’s designer handbag collection out of the room and to the car. Yet he wanted constant reassurance that he was doing a good job. It was all too much. Caroline blew up, telling him to “f*ck off” and called him an “annoying gnat.”
I know actual toddlers who are not as overbearing as Sergio. But I will say he was only 24 when he first got together with Caroline. Now that the honeymoon period is over, their age difference is really apparent. That’s not his fault or something he can control. Sergio hasn’t lived as much life as Caroline. She has already been through so much and learned from those experiences. He was a soccer player, which is not a normal way to grow up either.
