Why the Internet Thinks Justin Bieber's Birthday Party Favor Shades Ex Selena Gomez

Fans believe Justin Bieber may have been shading his ex, Selena Gomez with his birthday party favors.

The "Yummy" singer celebrated his 29th birthday over the weekend with many friends and family in attendance. However, days later, the "Sorry" artist is being accused of gifting party-goers with a small favor that may be a dig at the Rare Beauty CEO. 

The gift in question? A silver metal lighter engraved with the quote, “I’m so thankful that I didn’t end up with what I thought I wanted."

Many fans took to Twitter to share their conspiracies that the etching was about Gomez and pointed the blame at Bieber's wife, Hailey Bieber, who has been accused of feuding with the Disney Channel alum.

"admitting that your wife was your second choice on your birthday is crazy lmao selena truly lives in his mind rent free," one fan wrote.

"There's no upgrade after Selena Gomez. Bieber should consider healing," another user shared.

"So Hailey was in charge of the party favours then," another fan wrote.

Other fans are looking at the positive side of things, taking the party favor as a sincere sentiment, with one fan writing, "can’t believe people are interpreting this negatively. Justin is saying he’s grateful for the life he has as is."

Justin has been split from Gomez for five years now and married his wife in 2018, but the drama surrounding the three has yet to die off. Specifically, the model and her close friend Kylie Jenner, were accused of shading one of Gomez's recent social media posts.

However, Jenner has since denied the accusations, writing, "No shade towards selena ever and I didn't see her eyebrow posts! u guys are making something out of nothing. this is silly."

Nonetheless, fans have continued to the Biebers against Gomez, who took a social media break amid the alleged drama.
