Why Timothy Olyphant Took His Pants off on ’Conan’

Timothy Olyphant visited Conan on Wednesday and gave Conan O'Brien an acting lesson. The star of Justified and The Grinder demonstrated the differences between film acting and theater acting. For film, he leaned in to O'Brien, speaking intently, while the camera framed just their faces. He then had the camera pan out, to approximate theater acting, which revealed that Olyphant had taken his pants off.

Always ready to give the audience more, Olyphant further revealed that he was wearing “Ellen” branded underwear, which he’d been given for being a guest on The Ellen Show. O'Brien was baffled by this, though much of the audience already knew of the practice. Andy Richter confessed, “Ellen just found we don’t watch.”

Conan airs weeknights at 11 p.m. on TBS.
