Will Ferrell is back to making fans laugh in his first appearance after car accident
Will Ferrell did what he does best and cracked some jokes in his first public appearance following an April 13 car crash.
Ferrell appeared onstage alongside Macey Hensley, an 8-year-old expert on U.S. presidents, at Thursday’s WE Day event in Los Angeles. The comedian, who’s known for his impression of former President George W. Bush, was giving Hensley a pop quiz and tried to tell her that Barry F. Sasquatch was actually the president with the largest shoe size. She laughed, along with thousands of students who’d earned a ticket to the show through their work with charitable causes.
“I think you could totally be president one day,” Ferrell told Hensley. He asked if he could be Hensley’s secretary of “curly-haired people” and suggested that his hair qualified him for the job.
She was convinced, but John Stamos was not. The Full House star, who hosted the event, took issue with Ferrell’s case when he returned to the stage.
“Will, if there’s gonna be a hair expert in Washington…,” he said, and pointed to his famous tresses.
All jokes aside, Ferrell looked like his usual self only a few days after an SUV in which he was a passenger flipped over on an Orange County, Calif., freeway. Ferrell was taken to a nearby hospital and released within hours. TMZ reported that he had been on his way back to Los Angeles after appearing as his Anchorman character, Ron Burgundy, at a Funny or Die event.
