Willie Nelson back on road but missing some Outlaw Tour shows, including Holmdel concert

Willie Nelson is on the mend but he's not playing dates of his Outlaw Tour this weekend, which includes a Sunday, June 30, show at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel.

“Willie Nelson has been cleared by his doctors to go back on the road again,” stated Nelson's social media on Friday, June 28. “He will resume performing on the Outlaw Tour next week. Willie will not be on this weekend’s dates.”

The tour, which includes Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, and Celisse, will go on as scheduled. Lukas Nelson and Family will fill Nelson's spot on the show. Lukas is Willie's son and he sings some of his dad's classics.

Willie's social media announced that the 91-year old was not “feeling well” at the onset of the tour last week and would miss “the next four days.” The music legend was expected back for the Thursday, June 27, show in Virginia Beach, but a posting on the day of the show announced that he was not playing.

The latest post states he will miss shows Friday, June 28, in Syracuse, New York, and Saturday, June 29 at Jones Beach, Long Island, in addition to the Holmdel show.

The next date of the tour is Tuesday, July 2, at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts, and then there's Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnic, with the same headliners, on Thursday, July 4, at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden.

Refunds are not being offered. A request for more information on Willie's illness was not replied to by a spokesperson.
