Top prizes at Busan’s Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards today went to Wong Kar-wai’s first feature series Blossoms Shanghai and Coupang Play’s Boyhood.

Blossoms Shanghai won the Best Creative prize and the series’ Hu Ge won Best Lead Actor (Male). Coupang Play’s Boyhood won Best OTT Original.

Imperfect Us, the most nominated work at this year’s awards, received two prizes: Best Lead Actor (Female) for Ariel Lin and Best Original Song for Tanya Chua’s “Learn to Live Again.”

The newly-introduced People’s Choice Award went to Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hyeyoon from Lovely Runner after receiving approximately 600,000 votes from global viewers via Kinolights.

Netflix’s Mask Girl won Best Supporting Actor awards for both Ahn Jae-hong and Yeom Hye-ran.

The Best Writer honors were awarded to Ju Hwa-mi for The Atypical Family, a series about a family with superpowers.

The Best Newcomer Actor (Male) award was shared between Chae Jong-hyeop from Eye Love You and Kim Yo-han from The Killer Paradox.

Best Visual Effects went to Netflix’s Parasyte: The Grey, directed by Yeon Sang-ho.

Kazakhstan’s 1286 won the Best Asian Contents award.

In the Best Reality & Variety category, Thailand’s hit show Two Faces, where participants meet their doppelg?ngers, shared the award with Korea’s Jinny’s Kitchen 2.

In the Best Newcomer Actor(Female) category, Nimura Sawa was chosen for her performance in Shut Up, which also marks her debut leading role.

The Rising Star of the Year Award, recognizing individuals with domestic and international influence, was jointly awarded to Anson Kong from Warriors Within 2, Jo Yoonsu, who starred in The Tyrant as well as model-actress Miyoshi Ayaka.

The Creative Beyond Border award, which recognizes efforts to pioneer new genres in the OTT space, went to TVING’s documentary Shaman: Whispers from the Dead. The New Technology Award, given to platforms providing innovative services using ICT-based technologies, was awarded to KOCOWA.
