The tournament, originally scheduled for 2021 but delayed due to the pandemic, sees 20 national teams competing all over the world (essentially baseball’s version of the FIFA World Cup). Just three teams remain: Team USA, Japan, and Mexico. Team USA is guaranteed a spot in the championship after beating Cuba on Sunday, while Japan and Mexico will face off for the second spot. Team USA are the defending champions after winning in 2017, and will host the championship game in Miami.
