'Wow, she looks like a young Demi Moore': People are obsessing over who Courteney Cox's daughter looks like in 1st-day-of-high school pic
Courteney Cox and David Arquette are officially parents of a high schooler.
To mark Coco Arquette‘s first day of high school, “proud” dad David shared a snap featuring the 14-year-old sandwiched between him and his ex-wife. The caption offered some sage advice to the teen to “have fun” and “be safe” now that she’s a freshman. “AND don’t grow up too fast!” he added rather adorably with a lot of “love, love, love.”

Fans loved seeing the Scream co-stars, who split up eight years ago, together again in the photo. (“You guys are an inspiration to all divorced parents out there,” wrote one commenter.) But more than that, they loved saying who they think Coco — with her straight, dark hair parted down the middle — looks like. For the record, that would be Demi Moore. “Wow, she looks like a young Demi Moore,” wrote one person. Another wrote, “You two cloned Demi Moore with your kiddo.” A third said, “Holy crap, thought that was Demi Moore’s daughter.”
And the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Other commenters said that the Friends alum also resembles the G.I. Jane and Ghost star in the shot. “Wow, Courtney looks like Demi Moore,” wrote one person.
But Coco was the real focus — and there were other comparisons. The part, pointy collar, and makeup made one person suggest Wednesday Addams of The Addams Family. And, of course, lots of people said she looked like her parents. “She is beautiful and looks like both of you!” wrote one person.
Arquette, who went on to have two more children with his second wife, Christina McLarty, talked to Yahoo Entertainment earlier this year about his ex-wife (all good things) and their “amazing” daughter.
“She’s so incredible,” he said of Coco. “I just saw her in a new play she did after school. She sang, and she’s just so confident… [As a young teen], she’s going through a lot emotionally, in general just in life, but she’s handling it really well. It’s tough growing up; there are a lot of feelings. I still have a lot of feelings.” He added that she’s a “great babysitter” to her younger brothers, Gus, 1, and Charlie, 4. “She loves her brothers,” he added.
As for whether Coco will pursue a career in showbiz, it’s really just a matter of time. Not only is it in her DNA, but she has already dipped a toe in by appearing in a music video looking so grown-up — and toting a toy gun. “Our philosophy — with her mother — is keep it sort of just learning and honing your skills and unprofessional until later,” he said, adding that there’s enough for her to deal with in life before being “thrust into the spotlight.”
After all, she has a different beast to tackle before Hollywood: high school.
