The Year's Biggest TV Death Fake-Outs (And How Angry They Made Us)

Whose innards were the walkers munching after Nicholas shot himself in the head and pulled Glenn into the pit of zombies below? It was tough to tell — intentionally, thanks to a meticulously choreographed scene. And what did it mean that AMC removed actor Steven Yeun’s name from TWD’s opening credits? It meant the writers were trying to play out a little mystery, and they managed to do so for nearly a month before revealing Glenn had scooted to safety beneath the Dumpster. Many fans were angered by the ruse, that the show had toyed with their emotions, and put doubt to the idea that no character is safe in the zombie apocalypse. This TWD viewer feels the opposite; I loved the debate it prompted among the show’s devoted. Besides, in the end, Glenn’s alive! For now, anyway. — Kimberly Potts
